Aricent Group Launches Applications Practice to Drive Innovation Across Infrastructure and Devices in the Connected World
EAST BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY, February 28th, 2012 – The Aricent Group, a global innovation and technology services company, today announced at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2012 in Barcelona the launch of a new Applications practice to help clients in both the infrastructure and devices segments deliver compelling solutions and services for both enterprise and retail customers, across multiple vertical markets.
According to the February 2012 Cisco VNI Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast, 2011-2016, by 2016 mobile video will represent 71% of all mobile data traffic and tablets will account for more than 10% of global mobile data traffic. With the convergence of services and applications, users are now expecting the delivery of various types of content to all the devices they own, such as smart phones, tablets, smart televisions, etc.
The realization of convergence, with a focus on not only the end devices to which the content is delivered, but also of the type of content sources that can be delivered, has opened up unprecedented opportunities to meet the end-user expectation of ‘anytime, anywhere’ experiences. Moreover, the connected ecosystem has evolved beyond core telecom into vertical industries that are all leveraging always-on connectivity to offer added-value services – from smart grids to smart home, mHealth, and more.
