Multimedia applications and services have become
critical to product and services offerings from mobile handset manufacturers
and cellular providers. At the same time, mobile operators and VoIP
providers are moving to newer voice codecs that offer higher compression
without compromising voice quality. Aricent has extensive knowledge and
experience in developing and integrating codecs into communications
products.
Aricent provides services to mobile phone OEMs, silicon
vendors, and wireline multimedia infrastructure vendors in tuning and
aligning codecs with specific phones and chipsets. This includes development
of algorithms, device drivers, tuning and maintenance services.
Aricent offers codecs for every audio, video, and HD
video application. Aricent optimizes these codes for processors such as the
ARM9E/9T, ARM11, Cortex A8, Cortex M3, TI C55x, c64x, c64x+, IVA2.2,
OMAP34xx, OMAP24xx, Marvell PXA 310/320/300, Aspen, and Intel Bulverde. In
addition, Aricent supplies and integrates multimedia system plug-ins for
various operating systems such as Symbian MMF/MDF, Windows Mobile Dshow,
Linux gStreamer and also OpenMax.
