Pre-packaged Software and Frameworks
Intelligent Switching Solution (ISS) – Aricent provides a
complete software development framework - ISS, as well as individual protocol
stacks to help build the next generation of Ethernet products. ISS offers Layer
2/3/4 switching at line rate and is available in four packages:
- ISS Workgroup – This package includes features for
providing the bridging functionality, Link Aggregation, GVRP/GMRP, IGMP
Snooping, Network Access Control, Rapid Spanning Tree and Multiple Spanning
Tree. It supports networks including both IPv4 and IPv6 stacks.
- ISS Enterprise – In addition to ISS Workgroup, this
package includes several Layer3 features such as wire speed routing,
differentiated services, multicast routing, and routing for IPv6.
- ISS Metro – This package provides advanced Ethernet
switching capabilities for provider bridging, Ethernet OAM, virtual switch
contexts, high availability for Layer 2 features, and MPLS/VPLS for the
deployment of Ethernet in carrier or service provider networks.
- Datacenter Bridging – In addition to ISS Enterprise, this
package includes Datacenter Bridging Extensions (DCBX), extensions for LLDP,
Priority Flow Control (PFC) and priority groups and end-to-end congestion
management.
Automated Test Framework for Ethernet Solutions – Aricent
provides an extensive automated test suite with Carrier Ethernet, IPv4/IPv6
Routing, Metro-Switching and MPLS/VPN Test Suites to reduce time-to-market.
Aricent has developed in-house test plans to validate the functionality,
conformance and interoperability of various test suites.
