Satellite

Mobile Satellite service (MSS) applications have gained a lot of traction in recent years, taking advantage of new and more powerful satellites that provide ubiquitous coverage options and serve as overlays to the terrestrial mobile network. The satellite industry has also seen ever-increasing use of Internet Protocol (IP) over satellite to optimize bandwidth and to support mission-critical applications.  As metropolitan markets begin to saturate, wireless backhaul via satellite is also gaining widespread use for carriers serving telecom subscribers in non-metro and rural areas.

Aricent initiated its satellite communications practice in 1992, and since then has gained in-depth experience of over 2500 person-years in voice/data applications on fixed/mobile satellite systems. Aricent teams have played lead roles in the development of the Ground/User segment, with six major satellite systems deployed across the world.
