Healthcare is undergoing profound changes. Companies must offer more transparency and more personalized experiences that help people make better health choices.
For employers and healthcare players, out-of-control costs and scarce resources are driving strategies for distributing health and empowering consumers. New “smart” technologies are being deployed so consumers can manage their own health. These new devices and systems must be connected in a user-friendly fashion to ensure data is shared throughout the system and outcomes are improved.
The Aricent Group has worked with traditional healthcare providers, as well as new, non-traditional entrants such as telecom carriers and device manufacturers interested in developing health and wellness solutions. We have conducted research around the world for clients, to understand the needs of doctors, nurses, and consumers. We have helped launch solutions for our clients in the medical device, pharmaceutical, insurance and provider industries. These include remote monitoring, telemedicine, consumer devices and services, fitness and health management products, as well as data visualization and electronic medical records.
“It's clear now that [telco] operators are going to form part of the new distribution channel for some of the important developments in healthcare. It's one that brings economies of scale and devices.”
We help clients leverage mobile technologies to track and share clinical and behavioral information.
We design and develop a range of medical devices, including wearable and implantable devices, clinical and surgical equipment, and consumer products.
We help service providers with the challenge of shifting health management activities to the home and remote locations in order to reduce costs and improve outcomes.
Data analysis and visualization
Understanding health status and how factors such as diet, medication, and physical activity affect it can be complicated for consumers. We have expertise at integrating clinical and behavioral data, and synthesizing it to provide personalized treatments.
We help healthcare service providers create next-generation experiences that better support the patient journey, and which make the healthcare system easier to navigate.
Mobile Healthcare Monitoring
For a healthcare technology provider, we developed a mobile platform that securely delivers critical patient information, including virtual real-time waveform data, directly from hospital monitoring systems to a doctor or nurse's smart phone, laptop, or desktop. The platform is completely reusable, scalable and data independent, and can be employed throughout the healthcare enterprise.
Temptd Social Willpower iPhone App
We developed Temptd, a mobile application that brings the power of social networks directly to an iPhone or iPod Touch. It helps strengthen the user's willpower in the moments they need it most. Whether they're struggling with weight loss or smoking, Temptd connects the user with a community of people who are facing similar challenges (e.g. via Facebook), and uses strategies from gaming to make it more enjoyable to change behavior and track progress.
Online Electronic Personal Health Record
Managing diabetes includes monitoring everything from blood pressure and cholesterol levels to foot and eye health. Also, setting a regular exercise schedule is key. Diabetes patients often regularly meet with a team of caregivers that include primary care providers, endocrinologists, dietitians, podiatrists, and ophthalmologists. We worked with a German health care and IT company to make managing this complexity easier and more meaningful for patients, using an electronic personal health record that synthesizes key information to measure outcomes and recommend alternative lifestyle choices.
