LTE eNodeB Software Framework
Radio access technology has witnessed rapid innovation, especially in the LTE domain. While it delivers a higher data rate and better spectrum utilization than any previous technology, it also introduces a never before seen level of complexity into network equipment. Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) not only need to implement technology features in an optimal manner, but also have to be able to differentiate on product features.
Our eNodeB protocol stacks and software frameworks are used by the leading vendors to create eNodeBs of multiple form factors, from pico and femto base stations to macro base stations. These software frameworks have been chosen by over 18 customers to shape their future wireless access products, and have been optimized for hardware from multiple industry leading vendors.
LTE eNodeB
Aricent helped a major Japanese equipment manufacturer shorten development of its first LTE eNodeB by six months, allowing the company to achieve its goal of being a first-mover on LTE. We leveraged our extensive experience to provide design, development and quality assurance of the key eNodeB modules, operations and maintenance software, and a variety of test tools. Learn more
eNodeB Protocol Stacks and Software Frameworks
Our LTE software stack portfolio is compliant with 3GPP Release 8 with Release 9 compliance planned shortly. The portfolio supports the following protocols:
- Media Access Control (MAC)
- Radio Link Control (RLC)
- Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP)
- Radio Resource Control (RRC)
- Evolved GPRS Tunneling Protocol (eGTP)
- Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP)
- S1 Application Protocol (S1AP)
- X2 Application Protocol (X2AP)
- eNodeB PHY Framework
LTE eNodeB Framework
Our eNodeB framework integrates Layer 2 and Layer 3+ modules in a package that serves as a robust reference platform on which to develop complete LTE eNodeB solutions. It provides complete Layer 2 and 3 functionality, and exposes clear interfaces for TEMs to incorporate product differentiation in areas such as SON, RRM and OAM.
The Aricent Group developed the industry's first L2 protocol stack for multi core chipsets.
