Data Concentrator Framework

Aricent has developed a PRIME/G3 PLC-based Data Concentrator framework to help OEM vendors speed up the time-to-market for standards-based power-line product offerings. Our engineers are experts in Wi-Fi mesh, cellular (EDGE, HSPA, LTE, WiMAX) and optical communication networks in Smart Energy engineering. This framework is portable across multiple platforms.

Features

Aricent’s Data Concentrator Application Framework (DCAF) that makes it simple for OEMs to create applications on the Data Concentrator. It has following features:

  • The framework provides a simple Web services based interface layer that exposes most common fraud detection, etc.
  • The framework has been designed in a platform and protocol-agnostic manner and can be used on both DLMS/COSEM and other protocols.It integrates with both Aricent and 3rd-party DLMS/COSEM client stacks.
  • Major applications supported by the DCAF include the following:
    • Meter Administrator: Meter registration, power control, clock synchronization remote firmware update, etc.
    • Information Meter Read: On demand as well as periodic reading of meters connected to the DC.
    • Remote Connect/Disconnect: Remote control of connection/ disconnection of the premises based on grid conditions.
    • Alarm Management: Management of outages and abnormal events on meters that requires raising of SNMP trap into the Outage Management System.
    • Fraud Detection: Detection of meter tampering and other related fraud.
