Carrier and Metro Ethernet

Carrier Ethernet transforms traditional Ethernet to a carrier grade transport technology by including capabilities such as resilience, operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM), traffic engineering, and Hierarchical Quality of service (H-QoS). We help to build the next generation of feature-rich Carrier Ethernet products by providing individual protocol stacks for Ethernet Linear Protection Switching (ELPS), Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS), Enhanced Connectivity Fault Management (ECFM), Ethernet Service Activation Test (ESAT), Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB), and Provider Backbone Bridging Traffic Engineering (PBB-TE).

IP/MPLS

The ability of IP/MPLS to carry multiple streams of packet-based services over a common transport, with agreed QoS assurance and ease of provisioning, makes it a natural choice for packet transport networks. Our Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) software is an efficient and portable implementation of the label switching capability mechanism required by industry standards. A complete suite of MPLS services with Traffic Engineering (TE) and Fast-Reroute (FRR), with L2VPNs (VPWS, VPLS / H-VPLS), L3VPN, and EVPN with integrated L2VPN/L3VPN capabilities is available as part of TSS. Access Networks, Mobile Backhaul and Data center Interconnect are some of the deployment scenarios realizable with the TSS IP/MPLS.

MPLS-TP

MPLS-TP is a set of enhancements over MPLS to provide strong OAM functions, and protection schemes required by transport networks. Aricent MLPS-TP is a portable implementation of the MPLS Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) path protection switching mechanisms as specified in the MPLS-TP linear protection switching specifications. Aricent MPLS-TP is is well suited in realizing Carrier Transport Networks and Industrial Networking solutions with high reliability requirements.

Packet Microwave

The wide spread acceptance of smart phones, tablets and other mobile devices has resulted in increased demand for broadband data services across mobile networks. However, this causes bottlenecks in conventional microwave systems. The IP microwave system not only improves the bandwidth utilization but also reduces OPEX and handles larger traffic volumes compared to the legacy systems. Aricent TSS enables equipment manufacturers to develop robust standards compliant products to meet this challenge.
